Superfood Shot 2

Here’s something you can try in the mornings (or anytime) to give your body that extra edge:

Juice (with a juicer):

1 large, sweet Apple

1-2 inches of raw Ginger

Mix in:

1/2 tsp of raw Honey

4 oz Aloe Vera Juice

1 dropper-full (about 40 drops) of Maca liquid abstract

1 dropper-full (about 15 drops) of Marine Phytoplankton

Stir and pour into two glasses, or drink it all yourself!  Aloe Vera and Honey can be found easily at most stores. Maca extract can be found in health food stores. Marine Phytoplankton is  a little trickier to get a hold of, I bought mine online at It’s expensive, but it lasts a long time, since you’ll only use about 10-15 drops at a time.

That’s four superfoods in one shot. Here’s why these ingredients are good for you:

Aloe Vera: “The gel of raw aloe vera contains vitamins A, C, and E, the minerals sulfur, calcium, magnesium, zinc, selenium, and chromium, as well as antioxidants, fiber, amino acids, enzymes, sterols, lignins, and most importantly, polysaccharides. Aloe’s polysaccharides have a particular lubricating effect on the joints, brain, nervous system, and the skin. These polysaccaraides are long-burning carbohydrates and provide steady energy over time” and they “allow the human immune system to fight back chronic viral, nanobacteria, and fungal infections.” Aloe Vera is also helpful for “all types of digestive problems and can aid in recovery from digestive illnesses… (Wolfe 2009:166-167).

Honey: In its “organic/wild, raw, unfiltered state” honey is rich in minerals, antioxidants, probiotics, and enzymes (Wolfe 2009:87).

Marine Phytoplankton: This superfood provides energy although it contains no stimulants such as caffein. It can improve the immune system. Antiviral, antifungal, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects have been observed with phytoplankton use. It can help shed excess weight, improves memory, normalize blood sugar imbalances, reduce cravings, improve sleep, reduce stress, improve digestion and circulation, and more (Wolfe 2009: 150)!

Maca Root is an adaptogenic superfood that “increases energy, endurance, oxygen in the blood, physical strength, neurotransmitter production, and libido. It supports the endocrine system, the adrenals, and the thyroid, typically improves one’s mood, and helps support healthy hormone production. (Wolfe 2009:70)”

Improve your health and enjoy!
